Starting his professional career at Ernst & Young (now EY), he has been Head Tax Partner at some of the main national (e.g., Araoz y Rueda) and international (Olswang, now CMS) law firms. With over 25 years of experience in tax planning and structuring, as well as in tax litigation, he has extensive experience in the design of numerous national and international strategies and structures (outbound, inbound) for tax-optimization in the field of family wealth, including international succession planning and international wealth-optimization.
He has also been involved in the design of tax structures for corporate transactions in various economic sectors, particularly in the real estate sector (hotels, retail, residential, co-habiting). He has broad experience in numerous M&A transactions, MBOs, MBIs. He is also experienced in tax structuring of film productions, IPOs and national and international corporate debt structuring and restructuring.
During his professional career he has appeared in litigation proceedings in the main national courts, including the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court, as well as internationally (European Court of Human Rights), and has defended property interests before the Council of State
Moreover, he has been Academic Director of the Masters in International Taxation (Global Taxation LLM) developed jointly 2017-2019 by the IE and the University of New York (NYU).
During his professional career, he has been recognized in international directories such as Chambers Global (2012, 2013, 2015), Chambers Europe (2008, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015), the Legal 500 (2009-2011) and Best Lawyers (2014-2023), among others.
He is a regular speaker and the author of various articles in scientific journals, having published more than thirty articles in the economic press.
